Updated: Jan 6

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL - Two more Pinellas County mayors are announcing their support for Amanda Makki (@amandamakki) today. Indian Shores Mayor Patrick Soranno and Belleair Beach Mayor Joseph Manzo are endorsing Makki in the race for Congress in Florida’s 13th District. This brings the total number of Pinellas County mayors supporting Makki to 12, more than any other Republican or Democrat in the FL-13 race.

“I am pleased to endorse Amanda Makki in the race for CD 13,” said Mayor Patrick Serrano. “As a veteran myself, I am confident she will look out for the needs of those who have served and are serving. Amanda is the right candidate for this district and she’ll work hard for our beach communities in Washington.”

“As Mayor of the City of Belleair Beach, I am proud to endorse Amanda Makki for Congress,” said Mayor Joseph Manzo. “Amanda’s experience makes her the best candidate to represent the GOP in Washington. I wish her all the best for a successful campaign.”

“Local support is vital in this race and I am humbled by the endorsements of a dozen mayors in Pinellas County,” said Amanda Makki. “It has been an honor to get to know so many residents in this district personally. I carry their stories with me daily. Making a difference for them is the reason why I’m running for Congress and I’m grateful to all of the mayors who recognize that in me.”

This announcement comes on the heels of Makki’s landslide victory in the Conservative Grounds straw poll. Makki received 68% of the vote. Nearly 300 people voted in-person during the polling period.

Makki's endorsements include: Indian Shores Mayor Patrick Soranno, Belleair Beach Mayor Joseph Manzo, Belleair Bluffs Mayor Chris Arbutine, Pinellas Park Mayor Sandra Bradbury, Clearwater Mayor Frank Hibbard, Belleair Mayor Mike Wilkinson, Largo Mayor Woody Brown, Seminole Mayor Leslie Waters, Madeira Beach Mayor John Hendricks, North Redington Beach Mayor Bill Queen, Redington Beach Mayor David Will, Belleair Shore Mayor Bob Schmidt, the 2018 Republican nominee for FL-13 George Buck, the widow of former Pinellas Congressman Bill Young, Beverly Young, The Republican Main Street Partnership and Florida’s own Maggie’s List. Maggie’s List is the leading national organization focused on electing strong conservative women to Congress.

Makki has spent her career fighting for conservative values as a Senior Republican Healthcare advisor for the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives, a frequent commentator on conservative ideals and strategy on Fox News, Fox Business, Newsmax, and several other networks. She served in the Pentagon after 9/11, and as an attorney during the Wisconsin recount for President Trump.
