Amanda Makki Signs Taxpayer Protection Pledge
Washington, D.C. - FL 13 Republican Congressional Candidate Amanda Makki (@amandamakki) joined Americans for Tax Reform President Grover Norquist (photo attached) to sign the Taxpayer Protection Pledge today. The Taxpayer Protection Pledge is a written commitment to oppose any and all tax increases.
“In an era of runaway government spending by the Democrats’ one-party control of Washington, we need someone who will stop the wasteful borrowing and spending,” said Amanda Makki. “That’s why I’m committing to Pinellas County voters that they can trust me to stop the spending and not raise their taxes.”
The Taxpayer Protection Pledge is a promise made to constituents who deserve to know where candidates stand on the tax issue. It is considered binding as long as the individual holds the office for which she signed the Pledge. The Taxpayer Protection Pledge was endorsed by President Reagan when it was introduced in 1986.
Makki has been endorsed by five mayors - more than any other Republican or Democrat in the FL-13 open race: Seminole Mayor Leslie Waters, Madeira Beach Mayor John Hendricks, North Redington Beach Mayor Bill Queen, Redington Beach Mayor David Will, and Belleair Shore Mayor Bob Schmidt. 2018 Republican nominee for FL-13 George Buck has also endorsed Makki. Florida’s own Maggie’s List endorsed Makki. Maggie’s List is the leading national organization focused on electing strong conservative women to Congress.
Makki has spent her career fighting for conservative values as a Senior Republican Healthcare advisor for the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives, a frequent commentator on conservative ideals and strategy on Fox News, Fox Business, Newsmax, and several other networks. She served in the Pentagon after 9/11, and as an attorney during the Wisconsin recount for President Trump.
