Largo Mayor Woody Brown Joins Growing List of Pinellas County Mayors Endorsing Amanda Makki

LARGO, FL - Largo Mayor Woody Brown is announcing his support for Amanda Makki (@amandamakki) today. Mayor Brown joins five other Pinellas County mayors who have already endorsed Makki in the race to represent Florida’s 13th Congressional District.

“I have seen Amanda at many community events in our city,” said Largo Mayor Woody Brown. “She has been listening to the concerns of our residents and I’m confident that she understands the changes that we need in Washington. I have endorsed Amanda Makki because I believe she will fight hard in Washington D.C. to make a real difference for our community here in Largo.”

Mayor Brown’s endorsement adds even more momentum to Makki’s thriving campaign. Makki signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge with Grover Norquist last week. She topped the GOP field in CD 13 raising nearly $300,000 in Q3. The strong show of support for Makki earned her recognition from the NRCC's Young Guns program. She is the only CD 13 candidate to attain the NRCC's "On The Radar" status in a single quarter of fundraising.

“The residents of Largo are lucky to have Mayor Woody Brown. His dedication to helping Largo thrive through his work as Mayor, his countless hours volunteering for causes in the community, and his first-hand understanding of the health care system serve him well in understanding and addressing the needs of the people in Largo,” said Amanda Makki. “We are aligned on so many issues and I am deeply grateful for his endorsement in the race for Florida’s 13th Congressional District.”

Makki has been endorsed by the most Pinellas mayors of any Republican or Democrat in the CD 13 race. They include Seminole Mayor Leslie Waters, Madeira Beach Mayor John Hendricks, North Redington Beach Mayor Bill Queen, Redington Beach Mayor David Will, Belleair Shore Mayor Bob Schmidt. Makki has also been endorsed by 2018 Republican nominee for FL-13 George Buck, The Republican Main Street Partnership, and Florida’s own Maggie’s List. Maggie’s List is the leading national organization focused on electing strong conservative women to Congress.

Makki has spent her career fighting for conservative values as a Senior Republican Healthcare advisor for the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives, a frequent commentator on conservative ideals and strategy on Fox News, Fox Business, Newsmax, and several other networks. She served in the Pentagon after 9/11, and as an attorney during the Wisconsin recount for President Trump.
